Hey, I’m Taja!
Hey! My name is Taja (like the Taj Mahal), and I’m a Philadelphia based certified personal trainer and fitness coach. My mission is to foster a safe space where all feel comfortable and empowered to discover their inner strength. Although it may happen along the way, my calling is not to help you get a six-pack, jacked arms, or a perky butt; it’s to help you get stronger and be more confident in your body.
Fitness has not always been a big part of my life. It wasn’t until 2015 that a late-night decision led me to a health overhaul that resulted in a 25lb weight loss and a newfound love for exercise. My journey wasn’t easy. There were hiccups along the way and times when my only concern was being “skinny.” But when I discovered strength training, I become less concerned with how I looked and more concerned with how I felt and performed. For the first time in my life, I was in awe of my body and what it could accomplish. My sincerest hope is that I can help you reach that point of realization in your journey.
Outside of my role as a trainer and fitness coach, I am a non-profit fundraising professional. I have a BA in Anthropology and Religious Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and an MS in Museum Leadership from Drexel University. I’m a coffee enthusiast, a sucker for 90s alternative and hip-hop, and a frequent enjoyer of pizza.
